Our Story

Silverwell Forge is a property rooted in tradition and craftsmanship.

Originally a fully operational forge, it provided essential blacksmithing and farriery services to the area’s horses, serving as a cornerstone of the local community. Over the past 50 years, Silverwell Forge has transformed from a disused cowshed into an extensive series of properties and grounds, seamlessly blending heritage with modern comforts.

The grounds are equally impressive, featuring an extensive Rhododendron and Camellia garden developed over five decades. This stunning garden offers visitors and their canine companions a tranquil setting with ample space for dog walks. Beyond the garden lies an additional 5 acres of fields, complete with a kilometre-long grass walkway cut into the pasture, perfect for leisurely exploration.

In 2017, Silverwell Forge further embraced its rich history and welcoming spirit by opening the doors to its self-contained one-bedroom Annexe. Designed to provide guests with a unique blend of historic charm and countryside relaxation, the Annexe continues the property's legacy of exceptional hospitality. Today, Silverwell Forge is a harmonious blend of historic significance, natural beauty, and warm, modern comfort.
